Well, I just ordered F.E.A.R. Gold Edition because I played the demo of F.E.A.R. 2. I had played the demo of the original F.E.A.R. but for some reason didn't like it. I think I've developed a taste for horror games recently, sort of. Half-Life 2 kinda got that started though it isn't really what I'd call horror. From there was Crysis which is more just military with mildly scary alien element thrown in here and there (Crysis Warhead not scary at all), then I got Bioshock. Ok now we are gettin warmer.

Well, now I played the F.E.A.R. 2 demo and it was just ****in awesome. So much so that I just ordered F.E.A.R. Gold so as to understand it better. Unfortunately, no store I trusted carried the platinum edition (which had the Director's Edition of the original and the 2 expansions) but Amazon had the Gold version which is the same as the platinum, just minus the Perseus Mandate expansion. I'm also gonna have to get that expansion (if I want it) separate.

Now I can't wait for F.E.A.R. 2 to come out. That demo was so great I thought. Even the horror parts I was havin fun. Since I was expecting a lot of the stuff (and I played it with the lights on), it didn't startle me as much as the original F.E.A.R. demo. In the original's demo, I didn't know exactly what the game was about and it scared the **** outta me. I had played it at midnight with all the lights out.

So anyone else played the demo yet? I believe it's available for PS3, XBOX 360, and PC. I played the PC version obviously. Had to tweak the controls a little but it played well.

Well, I got it but I haven't played it yet. Not sure if I'm going to tonight or not. I'm debating whether I wanna play F.E.A.R. 2 or F.E.A.R. Extraction Point first.

FEAR is crap, worse game ever and the story line just is lame.

I just can't wait until Doom 4 comes out, which I belive has been in production since September 2007?

Wasn't great but was still pretty good. The demo for F.E.A.R. 2 was pretty freakin great so I'm hoping the actual game is more of the same. I decided to play Extraction Point first but I'm likely to stop in the middle of it and start F.E.A.R. 2.

i enjoyed fear quiet alot, for me it was one of them games (along side doom3) which to get the best oiuf of you had to play at about 12 at night in completley darkness with the headohones on,

so much atmosphere!

Fear 2 looks great but i think its distanced its self from the original in terms of gameplay (no more unarmed combos or anything! )

OK, I've been playing F.E.A.R 2 for the last coupla hours and it is great I think. To me, it's not as creepy but there's a lot more **** to shoot. It's hella fun. I like the weapons more too. I also like that they removed the flashlight battery thing. The flashlight doesn't have to recharge anymore.

There's a lot more action than aimless wandering this time around. I found in the old one, I was walking around a lot just waiting for the next thing to scare me. It got old. This one, there's not much of that. And now, there's these monster things that remind me of the fast runner zombies from Half-Life 2. Just hit the SlowMo button and pop em with the shotgun and they're down. Really I'm having quite a bit of fun with this ones. I also like that people are talking to me more. There wasn't alot of interaction with other characters in the first in comparison to the second. I guess I got spoiled in the CoD series where you almost always have companions.

So far I'm liking it.

OK, finished it already :p It was fun as hell. Not as quite as scary (for me really that was kind of a good thing) but it had SOOO many more Replicas and ATC to kill. Biggest problem, the end was kinda weak like Bioshock.
