Hi guys,

anyone used fuchs titan gt1 5w40 on a b16b engine with basic breather mods? Just need some reviews/opinions if it's any good and worth purchasing over shell helix 5w40 that a honda dealership has advised upon.

Cheers

Go for Shell helix 10w- 40 instead from your dealership.

Brilliant thanks. My engine has always been ran on 5w40 with zero problems. Would changing the oil for 10w40 cause problems, and is it worthwhile or just stick with 5w40?

These oil questions are constantly asked and IMO it makes no massive difference if you go for 5w40 or 10w40 etc etc unless you have a high performing engine that requires specific lube. I personally used to go for 5w40 fully synthetic mobil oil, but now moved onto 5w40 Motul fully sythn 8100 X-cess. From the two I've not felt any difference, but I've read up that the guideline is: the higher the price of oil, the "better".

I've been thinking about using thinner oil just so the engine can rev faster but in reality you won't feel that. Whatever you use I think will be fine as long as you check your oil regularly and service it every so often you'll be fine :)

If you change, don't mix them lol

Greatly appreciated for you're insight, you have pretty much a answered everything I was thinking of. I've always been using shell 5w40 never used a drop always golden and clean. I've been offered titan gt1 5w40 at a very good price I might just buy it for when i need another service

Good to hear that you have a healthy engine! Mine doesn't burn either unless in constant VTEC lol. But aye, you'll be alright :)

ps, from my previous post, I meant moved from Mobil to Motul lol

These oil topics are like opening a can of worms, I guess use what works for our cars.

Loads of threads surrounding oil.

10w-40 - B series
5w 40 - k series
