funny black box near accelerator pedal! EK9--

hey there guys

i was trying to fix my locking and unlocking of my aftermarket alarm system which came installed on the car when i purchased it, gave up as it unlocks, but doesnt lock, got fed up and uninstalled the whole system

as i was ripping the alarm system out, i found this OEM looking black box sitting in the corner held on by 3 10mm nut and bolts

was wondering, if anyone can identify this box@! is it usefull? does it play a part in my car? what does it do?

Yeah, judging by the orange plugs I'd say that was the ABS computer (I wouldn't know as mine is a none ABS model but still has the orange plugs by the back seats that would be plugged to the rear wheel sensors)

awesome thanks a million guys, at least i know i've got ABS. i removed my alarm and DAYMMMMMMM there was at least 1kg of dodgy wiring.

the wiring wasnt even going thru thr grommet on the doors, some doof head drilled a small hole on the bottom of the door ( the water drainage hole) and fed the wires thru it.

the alarm only worked with the drivers door, nothing else. so if you were to open up any other door but the drivers, the car wouldnt go off, HOW DODGY IS THAT!

wires werent even soldered in, it was twisted on and then electrical tape. sighhh why would people do such things to such car!
