I'm looking for some advice on a leak I have.

It's not engine oil, as it doesn't use a drop. So it's looking like it's coming from the gearbox.

I could get in the car and drive 200miles at a steady pace and it wouldn't leak at all, however if I push on down some B roads it leaks all over the exhaust and smokes and stinks like nothing else!

Could it be an overfilled gearbox? I can't see anything from under the bonnet so it must be underneath.

Could it be your breather (crank case vent ) leaking? When you push the car it would breath heavier and put out more oil vapour.

It would only need to leak a little to smoke and stink if it got on the exhaust.

Or could be the intermediate shaft seal as that's just above the exhaust but as @b16 mini said that breather can leak seen it before I'd be checking both of those

Not the best pictures, but I'm on my back with the car on the stands. Oil is all over my exhaust, even on the 1st silencer! On the last picture it looks like it's coming from where the shaft goes in?

Can you get it to a jet wash or garage mate? Get it all clean and dry and take it for a spirited drive and then have a look.

Could well be that seal round the shaft though.

The guys that did my suspension last week said my gearbox could have been overfilled, is this a possibility do you think?
I need it sorting though, I can't take my car on track like it is, I've seen drift cars smoke less!

Yeah it could be that. Oil going where its not meant to. Just pull the fill plug out and wait until the oil stops pouring out :)

Looks like your shaft seal! If it's over filled I shouldnt pass that much oil but that doesn't help the seal! phone up Honda get the seal ordered (may aswell do the pair n/s and o/s) and put fresh oil in too! wouldn't advise a "spirited drive" if your losing oil as you'll cause more damage if you loose too much!

It will be the seal...how can you overfill when the fill point is the max level?

Easy to over fill just fire lots in and not let it level itself and just fire the plug in! Won't be overfilled much but can be done! @JohnTurbo

A lot of people fill through the vss hole because the fill port can be difficult to open.
Although I agree it's likely the seal, the oils running onto the shaft spinning at madness rpm and getting thrown all over the place.

Rang honda to order the parts, while I was on I just thought I'd ask out of interest how much they would charge to do it.
£220!
£90+vat an hour for labour! how can honda drivers afford that? And how much to the big boys like mercedes and audi charge!

I work for Mercedes it's about 80+ odd a hour I think lol that's commercials

Soooooooo it turns out it's not the gearbox at all, it's this little bung, from where the PCV was removed, also when the paste was scrapped away it revealed a hairline crack! Do you reckon it could be repaired? Welded maybe? Or is it replacement block time? :(

Some jb weld on the crack will sort that right out. No need for replacement block.

Also why has the pcv box been removed? You running custom catch can setup? High comp / turbo?
More to the point its quite strange for it to crack in that place unless it's under alot of load and has a insufficient blow by set up..or unless the blank plug was hammered in really hard causing premature damage to block..

The PCV system was removed by the previous owner so I don't know the reason why. It does have a catch can setup though with 2 extra breathers from the cam cover
