sup people, I am thinking to get a EK9. Just wondering will I fit into it? I am 6'4 tall and weight 200 pounds. there is one 96 civic hatchback for sale which is 300 away from where I live. So I want to make sure that I will be able to fit in. As you know, there is no civic type r in US, so my goal is to swap the K20 into it.:nice:

i'm sure you will, if it feels a bit high inside you could always get low position seat runners which lower the seat by about an inch

yes you will without any problems, like steven said you will feel a little high, but you can get some low position seat rails :)

Thanks guys. I am driving a 1991 toyota MR2 right now, the 3SGTE is reliable, fast and MR always a +. how is the handling of EK9? I know Honda 's engine is always reliable that is for sure. I dont not get a chance to test drive one, so please give me your options about about the car, :thanks: .

I have drove, jdm starlet glanza, jdm starlet gts, jdm lancer evos, and I can't compare the level of handling of the EK9 to any of these, it's simply amazing :woot:

I take it your in the US then? US ek's hatches are actually called ej6's or just ek. EK9 is civic type r specific chassis code. There are a lot of differences between an EK9 and a standard USDM ej6. The k20 swap is a great but expensive choice. To make a standard hatch handle like an ek9 (or better) you will need some strut tower bars, an asr or beaks rear tie bar/swaybar brace, rear sway bar (22mm usdm ITR or jdm 23 ITR rear sway), some ex, si, or dc integra front lower control arms with a front sway bar of your choice (or no front swaybar), and a good set of new shocks and springs or better yet some fully adjustable coilovers, and of course some sticky tires. That is the very basics for making a good handling hatch like an ek9. Of course there are many other differces that make an ek9 special (recaros, seam welding) but many are simply cosmetic.

dont forget to do something about your brakes!! the ej6 brakes are awful!! ~9" front rotors drums the back
