My friend is asking £860 + my ek9 gearbox for his eg6 gearbox with exedy clutch, toda flywheel, kaaz closed gear ratio set and a gear type LSD (Quaife?)

all the parts are only 3 - 4 months old with the previous owner only used the car once/twice a week anyway......

What do you guyz think? is it worth it?
 
Is the gearset 3rd, 4th 5th? or longer 1st as well? If it had a plated diff I'd say yes, I don't think you'll see much of a difference between the Quaife and OEM LSD.
 
Think that's abit much tbh
not sure what an eg6 gearbox is worth to start with but s4c with gearset and a diff maybe get £800
I sold my 4.9 s4c with plate LSD for £750
He wants that with another gearbox on top!
Flywheel and clutch should come to about £200?
 
I think the toda flywheel and exedy clutch is around £550 brand new? I could be wrong though......
 
If there was receipts for all the gear and it genuinely was a few months old, It isn't so bad IMO. Although a good 16B S4C is worth £350 all day long.

If I were you and you really wanted it I'd offer him £650-700 with your 'box.

Sounds like a nice setup to be honest, would be nice to know what LSD it was exactly.
 
IMHO as soon as anything has been used it loses at least 30% of its value, no matter how "new" it is. I think there was more than one gearset available from KAAZ, find out exactly what's in the box including the LSD and take it from there. If it is the full gear set 1st~5th then it is a reasonably good deal - the gearset alone is around £1500 iirc.
 
Mmmm, I'm not convinced that's such a great deal then. So that's £1200 for the lot (assuming your s4c is healthy and hence worth around £350). Quite a lot if you ask me. Changing the box is fairly easy btw....
 
Tbh it's a bit dear I've a mfactory plated LSD,mfactory 4.9,s80 96 spec gears,carbon lined synchros, all oem new bearings and seals cost over 1200 to build just for new parts and I no I'd struggle to get what he's charging for his box with yours and I've reciepts for mine and it's done 1500 miles
