Has anyone used Toyo R888's on their EK9?

Thanks to everyone. Took the car for a blast last night and its clearly the tyres. Lovely! Cant wait for the new brakes now! Going to pick up my k20a2 and dc sub frame sat!! Good times.

The funny thing is that it seems to change according to car, maybe camber plays a part. On my Pulsar GTi-R, they weren´t very loud at all, but on my Del Sol (same tyres and wheels) they sang their little heads off.

I put r888's on mine on Friday and I did exactly the same thing! Haha! I thought my car was broken! The droning is very loud!

i noticed the extra noise aswell when i had these wheels on my pulsar gtir years ago, i thought my diff was on its way out!

Hi all. Have had a read of the thread. For you that have tried R888's and other tyres on your EK9 (or any car TBF), do they work well with standard suspension and bushes?

I imaging as corning grip and stability is greatly improve, wear and tear on the car also increases.

Are there any precautions when running semi slicks? Would be mostly track use, daily driving limited.

I'm trying to avoid major modifications to my EK9 mechanically.

Also I would assume R888s are heavier than a normal tyre in the same size?
