Has anyone used Toyo R888's on their EK9?

Hiya
I brought some Toyo R888 tyres for my EK9, completely standard setup including wheels.
I noticed on the way to Japfest almost like a rummbling / droning sound coming from the front end. You can mostly hear it when you let off the revs. My first thought was a wheel bearing or a problem with the engine. Then i thought about the new tyres. Today I took it back to the tyre shop that fitted the tyres and asked if they could have a look. He took it for a drive and had both wheels off. He said the bearings etc seem tight and he is convinced it is just tyre sound as the R888's are a different compound. Ive used Toyo T1Rs previously and never had a problem. Im having a hard time believing this sound is coming from the tyres.
So my question is has anyone fitted R888 tyres to theirs and noticed an annoying droning sound?

Any time bud. Read up on heat cycling too, these tyres are very easy to wreck.

Im on it. Not the cheapest tyres iv bought so dont want to be ruining them to soon. At least not before my first track day anyway. Nice one.

Im starting to think the same now i know what it is. Proper loud. I had some ebc discs and pads fitted on my last 9 and loved the braking noise. Nothing like hearing some thing working!

first time I took my mate out for a spin he panicked and thought the tyres were flat

We are hard core! We have no stereos! Took them out for weight saving! Lol

Driving back from track recently on the 888's, they got a bit hot on track some rubber was peeling away hitting the inner arch on the way home, felt pretty hardcore lol. First time trying these tyres, and they are amazing on track! I run x4 205/50/15's and just about clear the rear arch And yep, the drone is normal, I like it!

I had an in car charger which I had to keep swapping between say nav and iPod! Lol

I had my iPod turned right up both ears in and could still here the road noise and the revs lol 5krpm at 80mph

Will be doing the same to the ring in August
