Spark Plug Savvy: Tips for tuning marine engines

:naughty: With milling your head your going to get a higher c/r not much little gain make sure you measure piston to deck clearances an use a 1 or 2 layer head gasket an with the spark plugs I think your taking about an old school trick for a better use of the spark from your spark plug. It means that the ground electrode has to face all aline out of the way from the intake port directed to point to the exhaust ports so the fuel gets burned better! That is really fine tuning a build I really mean fine tune like IHRA or nascar some what down thoughs lines !

Just leave the engine alone and use the standard plug gaps.

I would not skim the head. But change the water pump while you are playing with the timing belt for sure.
