I have some questions regarding the B16A headers. (I have a Jap B16A)

1) Will an EG6/9 header bolt straight onto the CAT to my EK4?

A lot of aftermarket tuning companies have the collector size for B16A headers at 2.0 and B16B at 2.5.

Does the collector size depend upon the B pipe size?

I'm thinking of using the 2.0 collector size and a 4-2-1 design.

Plan to keep the engine as stock and if I do go for a B16B header
, I'll need a new CAT. Or if anyone knows whether the JDM CAT flange will bolt straight onto a 2.5 header flange?

Thanks :nice:

i have an EK4 B16A2 4dr sedan (PHDM) with FGK (fujitsubo) 4-2-1 header from a B16B/B18C engine & it mates up quite well to the stock exhaust but the hanger for the 2-1 pipe was cut off by the previous owner, other than that no problems with fit.

primary tube size is 43mm, secondary is 51mm which is just as big as the stock collector size & exhaust system.

the collector size of the FGK header is 60mm (2.38in) & we got an FGK 60mm full exhaust from a DC2 which is almost a direct bolt-on.

as long as it's from a B16A it will fit the EK4.

Hi overrev

thanks for the info on the header.

I'm looking to get the Js racing header, and will probably end up getting a ek9 CAT.

But have had good advice and may try to bolt it up to my 2.25 CAT, and see how it is.

But it's also good to hear you have a EK4 Sedan! Don't see many of them around these days anymore! :nice:

you will notice a dramatic improvement in throttle response with the header change but i didn't test it under WOT with the stock exhaust system but with all stock exhaust system (exhaust manifold included) it's struggles to 8000rpm.

now with a full FGK header & 60mm exhaust system it easily zips up to 8400rpm indicated on the tach, the engine now feels a lot stronger under acceleration.
