im having a problem with my car but not sure how to explain it properly, sometimes when im driving usually happens around 3000 rpm and i go to change gear as im pressing the clutch and my foots off the accelerator the revs just fly up and even if i leave my foot off the accelerator the revs stay constant and so does the speed.
can anybody tell me what this could be?
in know i need a new clutch and im getting one next week could it be related to that?

can anybody help plz?
i might not be explaining the problem correctly but it feels like my accelerator is sticking sometimes, i just took the car to a mechanic but when he was driving it, it was fine and he couldnt find a fault, the problem only happens rarely and when it does can be very annoying especially when in a town when the car wont lower its revs.
to make a bad situation worse it seems my front coilovers are in quite bad condition so if anyone could tell me a decent set for mostly standard road use ( bad roads tho) around 500 euro it would be greatly appreciated

Could be the throttle body butterfly getting stuck or the accelerator cable. Remove the airpipe off throttle body and try cleaning around the butterfly. I find carb cleaner spray pretty good for cleaning

thanx for the reply but is it hard to do? ive never done any work on the car myself as i worry that i could make a problem worse :((

Not hard to do. Just remove the intake pipe and look in the throttle body you will see the throttle body butterfly/flap. You might find its covered in dirt so get a cloth and some carb cleaner, spray into throttle body and clean. Then with your hand turn the throttle pulley fully so that the throttle flap is horizontal and spray carb cleaner into throttle body and clean the tb surface and also the throttle flap itself.

try to have more detail in the title, you will get more help this way.
