help please

hey guys i bought the car on a drive,notice it wasn,t reving ok is like there,s some stopping it from reving im even afraid to rev it too high incase i do more damage but anyway the engine light came on,so i got it diagnosed and i was told is the speedo sensor,i dont know what to check for and what to change i will realy appriciate if you guys can help
And if there is anything else i need to check also let me know thanks.

Speed sensor in gearbox. Check the connector plug on sensor it may be just loose.

Speed Sensor aka VSS.
They get dirty too, may only need a cleaning of the leads on the connectors. They also go bad as was the case with me...I ended up just replacing mine with another used one. done and done.
