Alright guys!

I've currently got a standard civic ek3. I've tried looking about here but can't seem to find the stuff i'm looking for.
Looking into the b18c swap, i'll have everything from the dc2 so should have the full conversion? I have several questions though..(lol i basically have no clue on what i should be doing or getting.) But I'll be getting someone to fit it!

What are the pro's and con's?
Would i need other mounts, or would any b series work like the ones from dc2?
Apparently i need a p28/30 and get it remapped as dc2 one will be locked?

I had more questions but forgot lol. Any info you's have would be great, I'm not too clued up with b series so any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Conversion wise i'll have All ancillaries, drive shafts, gear linkages, radiator, pipes/hoses, ECU, Gearbox, inlet mani with the fuel injectors etc, dizzy, and mounts from the teg..not sure what else..

Welcome and you will need

The engine including all auxiliary

b series engine mount from ek civic not integra

Ek b series engine loom but make sure its from same hear as your car as there is a difference from face lift and preface lift

P28/30 chiped ecu with b18 base map with 0bd2a or b conversion harness to obd2

Cheers! :)

I read that some of my mounts would work and i would need the gearbox mount and some other mount, do you know if this is true?

The loom sounds confusing haha my car is 99 but its prefacelift.. So i'm guessing i'd need prefacelift looms? Would the loom from the dc2 not work?

So i guess its true with the ecu..sucks! Wouldn't want to spend more money on an ecu or remapping it just yet when its standard

Thanks!

Yes the mount thing is true you will need the rear l bracket and power steering side bracket too and if face lift it will be obd2b and no integra engine loom will not work with elk civic and no need to remap if its a jdm ecu then it has no imobilizer so it can be used instead of a chipped ecu

I've done a few of these now, did an EK9 last weekend.

Sarkel's got it, but to expand on that.

Engine mount, you need the cambelt side mount bracket that bolts to the block from an EK4/EK9. You will also need the actual mount from an EK4/EK9 with the rubber in. You need the rear T shape bracket from an EK4/EK9 too.

Fuel/intake/exhaust is all the same as an EK4/EK9 with the exception of exhaust diameter if you have a 2" exhaust. Get an adjustable 2.5" decat and a JDM exhaust manifold to make sure you get the full benefit of the B18, 96 spec/EK9 manifolds can be had for 70-80 quid so they won't break the bank. Long term an exhaust from an EK9 and cat/decat will mate up perfectly with a JDM DC2 manifold.

You will need the heater hoses from an EK4/EK9, radiator ones are the same.

Wiring wise, as Sarkel says you need to get the wiring loom from the same shape EK4/EK9 as yours (facelift or prefacelift). The DC2 loom won't work with an EK because the DC2 and EG looms plug into the chassis at the passenger side near the battery, while all EJ/EK go through the bulkhead and plug directly into the ECU.

You can go down the conversion harness/P28 ECU route if you want to be able to get the car mapped (worth it long term), but for short term a JDM ECU will work with no issues at all. UKDM ECUs have an immobiliser in them and you can't use these, throw it away as it's pretty much worthless.

HTH, anything else you need to know shoot me a PM :)

On my iPhone ATM so short replies!

So I guess brackets are a must.. How much do they go for?

I've got an exhaust already, guess I need a decat unless my current one fits which I have no idea!

Will dc2 hoses not fit? As ill have the rad and hoses etc for it.

I see, I hope looms go for cheap as I'm skint :(

The Teg is a 96 spec so it's jdm so I hope it fits!

So much hassle lol I was hoping for a straight swap from a dc2

So in conclusion i need ek b series wiring loom and mounts and that should be it? (Just want to make sure 100% before i make a decision) :)

Does anyone have any bad points about the conversion? Hope parts arent too expensive compared to D series lol

Make sure its b series pre facelift obd2a loom and make sure you get the ecu and all should plug and play

Will do cheers :) I'll double check with the ecu incase..

Been looking online and ive read i can use my original loom from my d15. Need to wire in vtec but i should have that already. Might need to adjust other wires too, has anyone else tried this?

Just remembered also, will b18c4 driveshafts and gear linkages etc fit? Just thought i'd double check as i get these off a c4. Thought i'd ask as some parts have to be off a b series ek.

yes the gearlinkage will fit, but the (ej9 or ek3) are all the same, the drive shafts will fit no prob
