hi guys iv got a ej9 1.4 and theres a knocking sound coming from the driverside rear of the car and i know its not the suspension leg as it has been changed..any suggestions to what else it can be..im thinking the bushes but im not sure as to which ones..any help would be dearly appretiated..thank you..

Jack it up / put it on a ramp and shake everything. Youll soon find out.

Yeah afaik if it was the back end would feel a bit twitchy and 'floaty.' Hard to describe but i had a car that needed them done and it was noticable. Back end felt seperate to the rest of the car.

it dosent feel seperate theres just always a big knock as u go over a pot hole and british roads dont help either..think im guna buy two trailer arms bushes and see how it goes..

I have the same problem on the both sides, after I lowered on coilovers. My mate had the same problem and he solved it by changing the droplinks and the anti roll bar bushes

Sometimes rear pads can jump around in the carrier so check that if your running disc/pad rear set up.

u can check your RTA bushes by levering the arm up with a bar, they shouldnt move more than a few mil, failing that you can just have a visual and se if they are excessivly perished or coming away from the casing. hav you considered your shocks could be spent?

also do ej9's even have ARB's?

exhaust hitting off something?had this problem but couldnt see it when i had it jacked up but when i looked with it on its wheels i could see the problem

naa i havent got ARB's and wat does RTA stand for..my suspension legs r new with pro sport lowering springs havent got a problem there and the exhaust pipe is on solid so im jus puzzled..iv bought trailer arm bushes for both sides..guna get them changed on monday fingers crossed it should be fine after..i will let u guys know..thanks for all ur help..really appretiate it..

Drop links or bolts might have become lose somewhere RTA could be knackered also
