i recently got my hondata s300 mapped and i had the kick panel cover off and a red led came on for a couple of minutes and then went off. i was just driving on a motorway when this happened.

i came off the motorway and dropped it into second and as soon as i done it the red light came back on. i went thew the gears in vtec and the car felt fine while the led was on. it went off then and came back on about twenty seconds later. i dropped down thew the gears, 4th 3rd and second and went back into 5th and it went back off. when it went off i went into vtec to check everything was ok and it was fine.

when i turn on the ignition the red led comes on for a second or two and just leaves on the green one. also i was getting a check light the odd time at part throttle when the car was heating up but when i connected it to a laptop there was no error saved on it.

is there anything to worry about with the red led. i heard it activates sometimes when datalogging is turned but afaik that datalogging is turned off.

thanks for any help

Check that the Hondata board is on the OEM mother board solidly.

Double check your data logging settings too.

Datalogging

The s300 has datalogging to the SManager software built in via the USB port. Using a laptop the various ECU sensors can be datalogged, viewed, graphed and saved for later analysis.

Additionally the s300 has on board flash memory which allows a datalog recordings to be made without a laptop, for later access and download to a laptop. Multiple recordings can be made and stored in the s300 for a total of around 40 minutes of total datalogging time. An external switch can be used to start and stop recordings, or engine conditions can trigger recording. For instance in a drag race, the s300 can be set to start recording once the rpm is bought up to near launch rpm and automatically stop once past the traps and the rpm drops below a certain level.

Bump any other help. I'll check the data logging settings when I can hook it up to a lap top

it went into limp mode wich prevent from you messing up your motor.

hummmm...you should check this first. Your answer is within Hondata, not much anything else other than the Hondata board within the ECU/ECM.
