it looks like im swapping my BC spec 3 for a standard decat back sytems (exhaust)

my mods are:

J's induction
4-2-1 SS mani/header
De-Cat

will i lose a lot of power?:drive:

What size exhaust and what kind of muffler are you switching to? The BC spec 3 is pretty much just a loud pipe right?

yeh pretty much, its a standard ek9 exhaust (cat back) so whatever size that is!!

I can't say how much, but you will lose a small amount of top end HP and you will gain some low and mid range torque.

i am running a ek9 exhaust on my ek4 with a 4-1 mani and de cat. get good mid range power but high in the revs i feel it restricts the mani from doing its job. but if u have a 4-2-1 it should work very well together

i went back to a standard exhaust from a spoon n1 (i just couldnt handle the noise)
with the cat on you can feel a difference in the low revs
so i would say to you get a decat or if you want to save the plannet get a sports cat thingy

this is an interesting thread topic... 'how much would i loose' lol

Shouldn't it be 'how much would i gain?' If you think your going to loose power, why do it?

The mods sounds good to me, just pay attention to your ex pipe diameter. I'd just get a high flow cat instead though.

the standard ek9 exhaust is a very good exhaust system
put on a vti it does improve performance

I agree, it provides best torque curve and flows very well. The stock DC2R exhuast is actually free flowing. I don't know about the 9 though. But I would think it should be.

iv got a ek9 exhaust on my ek4 vti and yes i did get some gains. mid range torque feels lots better. it is a good bit of pipe work people are just put of because it is standard and dont make a noise. you will prob find its one of the best exhausts for the ek9
