I have the chance of buying this header at a great price, what do you guys think?

My car has a mugen exhaust + aftermarket ecu + cold air intake only.

Do you think it's a good buy?

its a great header, whats the price your getting it for? and is it a genuine hytech header?

as far as thoughts go, short stroke engines like the b16b dont really benefit as much from long tube headers like the hytech or smsp design, longer stroke engines like the 1.8 show much higher gains in the mid rpm range, but due to the fact that your revving your engine pretty high i would say get it if the price is good, because either way that header will help out your top end, and if you ever decide to stroke it, then it will be a perfect match!

right now i dont think you'd see any major gains with this but later when you get cams and more stuff done this header should really start to shine! it will be the last header youll ever need to buy :nice:

I can get it for 425$ :nerv: And it's a genuine hytech header.

Right now my car is running great, but the stock header.. sucks, and it weights a ton lol

What do you think? :wow:

I have talked to Jhon @ hytech directly and he went on and he pointed out some great things about these headers. The anti reversion chambers, as you may know, resist reversion of the exhaust gasses during the overlap stage, which means you arent reburning burnt gasses. These headers also incorporate stepped tubing and extensive work on the merged collector design. The flanges are beefy and wont crack on you, compared to some cheaper headers. It also has different guage tubing through out each section of the header making it lighter. If you got a different tune with this new header then you would see even more gains over stock.
Although I wouldnt go as far to say its the last header youll ever need to buy, due to different sized piping and lenthes for different sized motors and flow applicatons ( if you were change or stroke your stock motor)
If its authentic, for that price go for it! Where are you sourcing this header from, internet?, private seller??

Thanks for your comments! a friend of mine bought it directly from hytech, but they sent him the wrong one! thats why he needs to sell this and buy the big tube version :nice:

for that money i would rip his arm of, have hytech myself (cost me about 3 times what your been offered it for) and kinda didnt beleive all the hype but its unreal, you will need full remap though, stock ecu was plugged in on my car as a test with this header and car started to run lean

your mugen exhaust and good intake will compliment the header perfect

the torque gains on b16 with this header is pretty shocking as well

the only drawback is they sit little low and was banging my front lower tie which i had to remove

For That Price You Better Buy It Now!!!!!!!!!!!! If You Dont I Will Buy It!! And I Done Even Have Use For It, Buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!buy It!!

One question, did you have to relocate anything at all? I heard the the cat/de-cat has to be modified because the header is longer, is that true? :wow:

BUY IT!

And you may have to have en exhaust shop modify the cat location behind the header outlet because it may be a little longer. Its a straitforward exhaust job however.

BUY IT! My friend has this header+2,5" SMSP exhaust system on his ITR! It gains a lots of power! He ran 1/4 miles 13,99 with stock B18C6 engine!
That's why I ordered the same type of header! I will install it hopefully this week! I will write the differences! :woot:

Cheap & good.... rvm u cant go wrong..!:nice:

BUY IT...:D :D then prove it was worth the buy

this header will eliminate the cat/decat, it is a long tube header so it will bolt up to the section of the exhuast after the decat, so then you just sell your decat :nice:

and yes i do have impulsive buying habbits :D but i make sure to do a ton of research first, if basically reached the point where if the item is cheap and genuine i will buy it, even if i dont need it cause i might need it later or i can always sell it :nice:

like blinx9900 says it eliminates your cat and bolts straight to exhaust BUT this header is primarily designed for itr so on the ek9 it will leave you with a gap about 2-3" for which youll need to get custom decat made up but in the pic you posted it shows additional piece which if you get you can just weld flange on end and bolt to exhaust

yeah you can either add a custom short decat or just extend your current mugen exhuast, i would get the decat made that way if you ever decide to sell your exhuast it wont be all cut up.

As Blinx has said, they are said to be a great header! however, i've heard that it only really shines, once tuned :)
for that price, i'd but and get an adjustable decat

Hey guys, I didn't saw them on person, but I saw some photos, no hytech logo in any part of the header, the seller told me that it was made by hytech but as a production header for resellers meaning no logos anywhere, the hytech production header has the logo near the o2 sensor, I decided not to buy them, they looked as a ebay rip off for me, hope to find another one soon :)

Maybe they were not only intented ripping you off, but also selling you a non-genuine crap. I have never heart a header to be genuine without the original logo on!! The rest are excuses
I was bit confused seeing the price you were offered for a genuine Hytech manifold. I made a small research on the net and in every place I found this header to be around $1375. How on earth can you buy a original Hytech header for $425?
Smart decision not buying it!! :nice:
