SInce the Type r was never introduced anywhere really outside of Japan, its funny to see the majority of the people on this side from the UK. Since im in America, seeing this car is a dime a dozen..and believe it or not, i have only come across one true Ek9, yet many skyline r34s lol..ANyways i guess maybe its easier to import them where you live, or are they just a lil more common on that side? Be interested to know. :)

sorry ment to say on this site...not on this side my bad

In my country the RHD drives are not allowed to run on the streets. But anyways if you pay the taxes you can register the car, if you're drunk or something like that and the police pulls you over, you will need a lot of cash lol

shouldnt you just not drive when your drunk!

there do seem to be alot of EK9s over here in the UK but you still never see them.lol. i have only ever seen one on the road..and thats only because i know the guy and met him! lol

Yeah, there are quite a few Japanese car importers here in UK...
Also the fact that both countries use RHD...

I've only ever seen 3 Ek9's here in UK.

there's plenty ek9's in Ireland:thanks:
there's 6 of them that i know of in just a small area of waterford/kilkenny.

yea we can actually have RHD vehicles in the states but we have inspections upon inspections to make it street legal, and street legal cars here suck..we wouldnt be able to keep the same taillights, headlights, speedometers bumper reinforcements haver to be increased....yet if you know someone in the inspection business...they tend to overlook it :)

Street legal cars here suck? Depends upon what state you live in I suppose, I know "Johnny Law" in NY is a little harsher than most states, kind of like California. I fairly sure in most states you can get away with having aftermarket lights and speedo's. And RHD in the LHD based USA doesn't make sense.

there are 100s of ek9 over here there is a lot where i live in galway......i think its jus cheaper to import rhd cars into countries that drive on the left hand side of the road...cos me an another guy i no imported an eg sir to sell an it cost 3000euro in total to get the car into the country clear it for irish roads an put a nct on it....dunno wat it costs wit ek9s but i wana find out cos i wana import a yellow 1 for myself.

hey dino, you from NY, myself as well.. and yea ny is strict, it depends if you know people on my end lol..but yea rhd cars in the states does suck..specially if you want to pass someone on a break up yellow, you cant see anything, unless you have a passenger

I've only seen one real EK9 here in the states but there are a lot more obviously. The one I saw was just a coupla weeks ago at Import Alliance 2007 Fall. It was turbo'd and had seen it's share of races cause it was rough lookin and the interior was kinda nasty. It was most certainly a car that had been used a lot. Not only was it there but a real EG6 SiR and EF SiR were there with it (and an R32 Skyline, R33 Skyline, 2 S15 Sylvias, and maybe an R34. There was plenty of JDM cars there).

I believe in Tennessee, getting a JDM or any other RHD vehicle legal is a lot easier. Also, cops don't give a crap about what's on it. People out here have JDM lighting on their cars everywhere and none get in trouble. I have EK9 styled headlights and replica JDM square yellow fogs and nothing yet. See at the IA 07 Fall meet, there were a ton of JDM RHD vehicles. All were street legal and most were from Tennessee (the Fall meet is smaller and more local than the Summer meet). I think all you have to do is prove they meet safety standards (in the case of Civics, you just show them that it's the same thing with the steering wheel on the other side). I'll have to ask my mom on the details (she's a deputy county clerk and she registers and titles vehicles).

I'm from NH actually, but I know that NY is kind of strict. In all states its great to know people. For my last inspection they plugged the OBD reader into a new Honda CRV so I would pass emmissions, because the reading doesn't go off the VIN #.

You would love ireland so:D:woot:

well, there's actually quite a few JDM cars in Tennessee. There's a JDM S13 Sylvia her in my town. We're actually quite Honda Crazy in TN too. There may have been mostly USDM LHD vehicles at IA but about 3/4 of the Hondas there were either swapped with a B/K/H series or were turbo's and some where both. Many of the swaps were JDM motors but many like mine were USDM cars with USDM swaps (Mine is a USDM EJ6 with USDM B16A2 from an EM1).

theres a good few close to my area too,ALOT of replicas though

ireland are honda crazy:bow:

haha u can say that again i think there is more replicas than real type R....its funny wen they think urs is a replica wen them meet u on the road i always let them pass me them i blow past them in vtec :D

yea in ny where i live..not alot of people go for the replica look, they kinda do their own jdm thing. No body kits, but you wont find any civics with straight ctr stuff on it.. theres a ocuple of tegies with the itr goodies on it, but with civics here, they all do their own thing, its pretty unique how honda pieces are like legos though, everything is compatible with everything one way or another.
