Idle issue b16

Anyone help my rpm gauge will not work on my ek9 clocks when I have my headlights on... ?? Sometimes the car hunts for idle as well not all the time and temp goes up the odd time not sure if related car was sitting for 2 years previous and was fine before I parked it up

Do you mean the needle does not move at all?

Does it work 100% when lights are off?

I'd start tracing the wiring back looking for brakeages. RPM signal should be on the distributor

Yes does not work at all once headlights are on or sidelights but when they are off it works fine

Only thing I have changed and messed with is the head unit I put a newer one in

try disconnecting it and see if there is a change.

if so I would assume it has something to do with the wire going to the dimming when lights are on
