2000 honda civic ej9 b16a2 swap
Hi guys and girls,
Just bought my first civic picked up a ej9 with b16 swap and love it but I'm a complete noob with jap cars.

My question is can I put a p28 ecu in my build or does it require further modifications

Any advice greatly appreciated

What are your plans or goals for the car?

Not 100%sure would like to build a more powerful engine been looking at a bigger tb and inlet mani atm it's a stock b16a with s4c box and stage 2 clutch

Welcome dude, nice looking civic

I got bits if you want anything for this, pm me if you interested

Haha do you deliver in the wheelbarrow haha I'll pm you bud

Welcome bud :nice:
Saw this for sale on Facebook, looks pretty clean I have to say

Yea it's a little rough around the edges as expected with a 16 year old car haha mechanically it's sound engine runs ok idling a little high but new tps should sort that

Not mad about the rear bumper and the exhaust is insanely loud so that will be getting swapped out for something a little quieter haha

So long as it's not rotten your good, civics are a nightmare for rust haha

Oh and about using a p28 ecu, I'm sure they're only obd1 so would require a jumper/conversion harness to just plug it in, I'm not too clued up on oem ecus a quick search would tell you more bro lol.
If you don't have a budget I'd suggest something like a hondata for example, bit pricey but could get a nice map done and Have it tuned to how you want pretty much

I check usual areas sills area solI'd from what I can see rear arches have a little rust but not major underneath looks solid yo be fair

Ok so look at my ecu it's a p08 upon opening it I've realised it's socketed with a sst chip so I dont need the p28 as these are very similar ??
My next noob question is could I remove the sst chip and directly replace it with another chip mugen, demon for example

From the top of my head i think a p08 ecu is a d15b ecu. Im guessing the chip you have is a generic map, a socketed and chipped p28/p30 will allow you to remap your car on for example crome software or you could go hondata.
Tegiwa, h-tune, and a member on here called puggie can supply you with what you need if you decide to go down this route.

Could I not use any of the above chips on this socketed p08
