Im just wondering is there much work in installing bc coilovers in an EK9 , i usually get my mechanic to do my work but as he is so busy i want to attempt it myself, thanks lads.

If you have any knowledge of cars you should be able manage it yourself lad.. I installed my bc coilovers fairly easy. I will see if I can find a write up for you.

It looks fairly straight forward alrite but knowing my luck ill go wrong somewhere and damage something. Goodman thanks.

Lad I cant find a write up but its fairly basic and commom sense.

- Jack up the car and remove wheels.

- On the rear ones you need to open the bolt holding the shock to the swing arm and also open the bolt holding the anti-rollbar drop link to the swing arm.

- Then disconnect the swing arm from the hub so the swing arm swings down out of the way.

- To open the top two bolts you may take the cover off the rear speakers and take out the speakers. You will see the two bolts down there. once open the old shock will fall out.

- Put up your coilover and tighten the two bolts.

- Swing back up the swing arm and bolt it back to the hub.

- Bolt your coilover and droplinks back onto the swing arm.

- For the front you open the bolt joining the shock to the wishbone.

- Open the bolt holding the shock to the fork and disconnect the two. You may need to tap the fork down with a hammer

- Open the two bolts at the top. Easy to get to in the engine bay.

- Then if you use your foot to push down the hub so you can remove the shock.

- You will have to remove the fork piece and install it onto you coilover and push back down the hub and put in the coilover and bolt up.

-Once all put together you can set your hieght and once driving you can set your damping setting..

This is how I did mine. Installeded mine a year ago so I could have missed out on something but its fairly simple.. If I said anything wrong someone please correct me. These were the only set of coilovers I ever installed

My only tip is make sure you have both wheels off the ground on the axle you are working on, otherwise the ARB will push the UCA upwards and prevent you fitting the coilover.

Its a pretty strait forward job fitting coilovers, be very carefully with all 3 bolts in the rear lower control arm, If any bolts are going to snap it will be them and belive me for a home diy mechanic its alot of hassle.

Take your time and allow the whole day to fit the coilovers.

Yea losen the bottom nut and twist the thread down to lower it. Dont adjust the top two nuts as they are for the spring setting. If you only installed them they should thread down nice and easy and then tighten up the nut again . It takes alot of trys to get them all set right as you have to put on the wheels and let it to the ground and measure to try get the height right for you.

Thats the job. I was looking at the instructions they give with the coilovers to figure out how to do it but ****ing hell i couldnt follow it. Thanks again man.

No problem lad.. You will see how it works as you go along. Just count the threads and try keep them even man

allow for bedding in tho mate. the ride height will drop a bit when they settle in
