Yo folks Im looking for an insurance policy that allows me to drive other vehicles with the owners permission and still be covered 3rd party.

Im almost 25 at the moment and looking to possibly drive a car my dads looking at buying . Can anyone recommend a company that is likely to insure me in this way. I'm sure most insurers offer this its just I haven't ever looked into it .

Cheers mark

I believe 25 is the lower limit most insurers will allow you to drive other cars. I'm pretty sure admiral is 25.

not too many offer that type of insurance any more due to the amount of young lads that would insure a shite car and get their parents to insure their good car and just drive it instead (fronting). best off ringing around and seeing who offers what and be sure of the fine print as some offer it under certain T&C which is a balls.

Ive asked before about this when ive insured my car,and the answer i get is your in the motortrade and you might use it for work use.

I was with sky last year, insured through Chaucer brokers and I was entitled to drive other cars 3rd party, I'm 23.

With most insurers its 25 or over. If you are 25 soon it could be worth switching policy then to one that allows the D.O.C Cover.

Also as you are 25 you should receive a cheaper price than being 24 and also normally a lower excess. Its a crucial bracket for insurance so it could be worth investigating taking a new policy when you are 25.

Cheers guys in 25 in a few months so may be aswell as waiting and seeing if I can get insured on his car . Cheers for the feedback ,

Industry norm is aged 25 or over. When you are within a couple of weeks of your 25th, we should be able to look at DOC cover.

Thanks

We'll throw our hat into the ring too once you're 25, markp. DOC is dying out but we still have it available to us.
