afternoon people iv been a member for sum time never really posted anything major im an owner of an ej9 civic..
recently i had got togeather with my mates which the majority are german owners and seem to think that germans r better then japs in all areas..the debate got heated lol and we all got abit personal..
i would like to know what are your views on this subject oviously i know its all to simple to say japs are better or vice versa..
:thanks:

I don't think you can say German or jap. Germany has some **** cars and Japan have some **** cars.
But then you can't really compare the super cars either.
What cars do your friends drive?

Haha.

If they are driving round in 1.9 tdis then tell them to jog on and enjoy their 4k rpm.

If its something decent and german then youll just have to live with it. I myself enjoy the banter, but i do like some german cars alot.

I have this banter alot, it never gets too serious but it's fun to have an mild discussion about it :D

But if I were to go germanl, I'd go for the 1.9 PD TDI diesel engine, not bothered about the car as long as its got that engine. But I wouldn't give my little Honda up for anything :)

hahahaha yh i defo enjoy the banter too everyone gets pissed off lmao.. well amongst us we have civics (type r) sports and my ej, accords, eclass, 1series, vw golfs 1.9 and 2.0, vxr, bmw..i should point out all zee german cars are diesels lol

cant decide, japs and germans have made some cracking cars
i say french are the best!

I thought Honda and a few other Jap brands were always at the top regarding reliability the last few years?

i should point out all zee german cars are diesels lol

Nuff said, boring and slow doesn't mean it's better.

agreed, id love to own a 306 one day

Japans top imo!

Easy to work on from my experience, my eg's 19 years old and parts still come off easy, my 2002 focus has 100s of seized bolts and is generally a piece of sh!t ( i know its not german, just ranting )

Power output for the size of the engine, i dont think anyones beaten japan have they?

Looks, i see more jap cars id rather drive than german if i was going on looks but thats imo

both have their pros and cons and at the end of the day it personal preference, i like the racing style/handling cars from japan but i got a run today in a 2013 quattro a7, 245bhp diesel as standard. amazing car but with so much comfort compared to the jap cars ive had :naughty:

Japan & Germany build some great cars but its hard to compare them. Generally German cars are better built & interior Is a lot nicer. Without a doubt jap cars are more reliable. I had jap Hondas all my life, SiR2, EK9. Sold the 9 the bought a MK5 Golf GTI, great car but not as bullet proof as the 9. Just bought myself a facelift M5 recently and that's not comparable to much lol

But either way can't go wrong with jap or ger

I think that jap cars are way much better than zee german. The cars are more reliable and less expensive!

You had a golf and still consider German cars better built? Especially compared to the ek9 ? Whenever I'm ranting on German cars the golf is my example of how shite their quality is. And don't get me started in the design. Dash board big enough for a cocaine boss to land his private jet!!

depends on the cars and what type of drive your after. Both countries has made some excellent cars and both has made some pups that are terrible.

jap cars are best for money for value definatley :] and can be astonishing with appropriate mods but usually have silly little flaws . german cars are very bland boring but precisley engineered economical and can be made to look good , but always driving by whoppers haha jap cars for me

There are only good and bad cars. I can name at least one Jap, German, American, Italian, French and most likely other countries car that I would like to own. And I'm not talking about Ferrari or Lambo here, I mean cars that most people can buy if they really want one.
