hiya now lads?

i dont have my civic long and wanted to really get to know it inside out. when i

bought the car i was told it had a type r ecu and the vtec does kick in at

6000rpm. had a look at the box and it says p73-003 on the side and after

looking it up a little found out it was obd2a. now does this mean it can be

remapped? im kinda confused as i cant see an obd diagnostic socket. would be

thankful if someone could shed some light on all this for me.

cheers

david

Its a integra type r ecu which are all OBD2A .

They can be remapped but most like Hondata/Neptune/Crome use the p28 OBD1 ecu .

They dont use the EOBD style 16pin plug .

Instead they use 2/3pin plugs for flash codes or connecting a diagnostic computer.

You will see them plugged into a brown or green connector block as you follow the dash loom from the ecu !

i see. thats good news. want to get it mapped soon enough cheers for the quick reply mate
