J's Intake Experience!

i would be interesed in this too if its going ahead........

hmm, atm I got quotes back for 180pounds delivered to your door includes commission. But I'll ask about cheaper shipping company, please wait

okay thats cool all help appreciated cus depending on prices im swaying between the j;s intake and the spoon carbon intake, youll all be glad when i do finally decide

Ok, guys, If you want the shipping cost to be cheaper then Standby shipping is the best option.

The shipping cost went down to 7300yen from 8900yen. But it could be cheaper because it is just a package size estimate but very close to the actual cost.

Would it be worth trying to do a group buy if there are a few people interested here in the uk and ireland?

hmm, I'm not sure if maybe it might be cheaper if sending 2 or more of these to 1 location... But if separately to individuals then shipping wont get much cheaper...

If I can get sure numbers then I'll ask Japan to ask J's Racing for discount

i would be intrested in one of these if we can get a good price .

ok, I'm about to place an order for someone here in the UK, so anyone else wants one?

J's Racing are tightasses when it comes to discounts etc.

I'll be posting a new video soon... this time I'm gonna rev the **** out of it...

would be more usefull if you actually posted up a final guaranteed full price. and how many you need to get them for that price etc.

Ok, right now it is already reduced price.

-J's Racing Carbon intake for EK9 CTR
TCC-H5 : 26040yen -> 24800yen
Domestic/Shipping cost (UK) SAL : 7300yen
+10% of commission : 3210yen
TOTAL : 35310yen

If I can get solid numbers, I'll submit the numbers and see what I get. This is using standby ticket AIR shipping. If you want to further reduce shipping costs, and don't mind waiting 3 months, you can ship via SEA for about half the SAL AIR price.

Thanks again dude! For any of the people interested in buying, the yen price quoted above came to £174 delivered.

Ok, just updating this thread with my installation of a 65mm TB

Results = crap
Why? = lost power down low till 6000rpm, couldn't tell the difference at top end. Throttle response from Idle was further increased though. Other than that, nothing.

I read up a bit on TB the other day. Says it won't help if your TB is already big enough. Infact it'll make you loose bottom end(which was true). Says it won't flow anymore air than your cams allow it to. Meaning if your intake and exhuast is already efficient, then it won't flow anymore air through than your cams allow it.

Also notes that, a bigger TB might make it feel more powerful at part throttle because of the bigger volume it gives over a smaller TB at the same throttle position. But at Full Throttle, it won't flow anymore more over a smaller TB, providing your intake and exhuast is efficient.

This just goes to prove that bigger isn't always better. You'll just loose velocity and bug down the bottom end and gain probally 1 hp at the very top end when you have to change gears.

I don't know if everyone likes that but I won't want to sacrifice loosing a chunk of low -mid(1000-6000rpm) range power band for 1-2hp at the last 500rpm band

I also think for those who have J's Racing Intake, that you don't need a bigger TB because of the already large Volume that the intake design gives you. Maybe for the stock Intake or say a MUGEN or AEM intake, wouldnt be as **** as on J's intake, but then again, if you've got stock cams, FORGET IT!

This is just a repost that should be noted. I wasted $200+ on a power band shifting piece of crap
