Just picked up black EK9 and......

It broke down!!!:mad::mad::mad:
Picked it up from Mashamoto who had just done the bodywork drove it slowly to petrol station, put in fuel drove away just started to reach 3000 revs and cut out, wont start.
Car just had a cat 1 fitted and a speedo convertor, ran ok before this.
Car turns over but doesnt fire....no spark.:nono:

still investiating.:angry2:
 
i would of said petrol... how does the intial start up sound?? maybe battery?or even DIzzy.
 
Could be battery, as import cars most of the time are sitting in a shipping container and then jump started.

You tried a jump start? Not the ideal situation!
 
could be the cat 1 playing up just keep pressing the key fob my old civic was like that

Its not fuel as that would not cause a loss of spark.
Alarm by passed and still doesnt work.
Looking into Dizzy/ coil at moment
 
It is the Distributer. Managed to get one new for £109 delivered.
They are the same as a Integra type R and have TD87U marked on them.
 
Nottyash - Which branch of Mashamoto was it?? I assume thats where you brought the car from? I got mine from Newcastle - if so talk to Matt, he is very understanding and maybe able to help out on the cost! Or did you just get some body work carried out there?
 
Would the company that you bought the car off not fix it for you? Did you not get a warranty with the car etc...

It Was Newcastle and I was dealing with matt, however he was on holiday when i actually picked it up.
It ran fine the week he had it to fit the alarm and do bodywork etc. its one of those things I suppose.
Hope to get it up and running when the new dizzy arrives later in the week...cant wait, but its got snow tyres on it so will have to sort that too.

Its not like a garage its an importer so I have no comeback. I got it a lot cheaper than I would at a garage though, only £5775 on the road with bodywork, de limit machine polish and a cat 1 alarm. Its a grade 3.5 with a B interior, but the bodywork is now mint.:nice:
