K20 problems some technical advice needed

Hi all i know this is more dedicated to b series and d series but im sure someone knows whats up with my k20. I used to have an ej9 and have now bought an ep3, i have just had the timing chain done but these problems have been since before. Ok so my two problems are, when the cars been lieing a while e.g about an hour or overnight(so its cold), the car starts sometimes with a struggle but not as if the starter is not turning the starters going correct, it starts as if its missing a cyclinder and then in about 5 seconds it corrects itself and runs perfect only happens at start.
My next problem is my cooling system(i know not im the correct thread but saves making 2 threads) when the car is being driven about pressure seems to build and shoot out the expansion tanks cap, it doesnt over heat and the fan kicks in correctly, just cant figure out why its pressurising.

I had the same problem with my ep3, it turned out the head gasket was on its way out, and was leaking water into the cylinder while parked, it would refuse to start and when it would it would splutter and miss, once it would warm up it would go ok, took it for a good hard run then and it started mixing oil and water , is yours using any water,or putting out white smoke?
 
No smoke only at start up but smells very petroly, the waters being shot out the expansion cap but it has passed a leakdown test with 0% leakage
 
Flushed the coolant when the timing chain was done, problems occured before this happend, is the compression test not covered in the leak down
