Who's got a kswap vehicle and has used it day to day?

Anyone been running one for a decent amount of time? Have you come across many problems I the long term?

Iv had my kswap going 6months now with no issues at all, I use mine as a daily driver its fantastic on fuel better than when I had my B18c EK9. It's in the process of getting a rotrex fitted so will see difference in consumption.

I have one, 98 hatchback, k20S, CTR trans. I love it! More torque and power, how can one not like it over any B on the planet?

I got to drive a standard k20a2 ep3 type r and I was surprised how smooth it was. It really picked up early compared to the b16b, I can only imagine it would be a killer combo in the ek9!

183ft.lbs torque in mine. :))

What sort of mpg do you get out of yours?

I haven't had the privilege of experiencing a K20 in an EK(9) but I can imagine that a 2.0 DOHC VTEC should be nothing else but spectacular ánd very good in daily use because of the relatively flat torque curve (as in, it hasn't only got torque in the high rev range). The fact that it's a 2 litre should also contribute to a very smooth experience in such a light car.

I think mpg might even be better than a B16b, because of newer technologies. From what I've seen on k20 MPG it's not worse than an EK9 or DC2 while an EP3 is heavier. Of course when not flooring it :D

But then again, have never had the experience, these are just my educated guesses.

I dont use mine daily however when I have needed to use if for a week at a time or more it has been faultless.

On a run to Germany I saw 42mpg!! as there is so little weight for the engine to pull plus 6 speed!

Thanks for the comments, it really seems like a k20 would be ideal for the ek9!

Si8pny, what is vibration like in yours?

Its bad as I have very solid mounts...

However mine isnt really a day to day car....

Im sure if you went for the softer rubber inserts when you get your mounts it will be fine..

I use mine daily and the only gripe I have is the dash rattling. Noises don't usually bother me that much but that dash is really annoying. Other than that there great.

Better mpg than a b18, alot more torquey too.

I'm looking forward to driving my K swapped DC2...then I'll probably ruin it and put an LSD and final drive in it

I know, and it will happen.

Do B-series LSD's fit k boxes? I've got a Spoon 1.5 way LSD in the B-series setup I've got currently. Could be interesting...

My k20 DC2 was my daily for 2 years, with a 1.5way diff and 5.1 final drive. It was a bit tiring in the winter, some times you just want something comfortable, warm and quiet on those cold mornings but summer was bearable. Now I've got a 'normal' boring car again I don't think I could go back to something like that as a daily.
