Sounds bad already.....A knocking noise has started coming from my engine..Scared ****tless, the noise is coming from the bottom right hand side well i'm pretty sure thats were it's coming from....Does anyone know what this could be...I'm nearly afraid to bring it into a dealership......

sounds like the bottom ends or big ends are some say are away :( best advice is not to drive it as you may und up with a piston through the block

usaully this is due to not keeping an eye on the oil levels

Get it checked asap m8 any mechanic will be able to tell you if its the bottom ends or not, a rebuild of the bottom end is what you will need done if it is :s

Good luck and let us know

sounds like cv-boots/axles does it happen more so when your turning?

No u here it when the engine's tickin over. Its not very loud at all its only realy me that can hear it until i point it out to people..it sounds as tho is gettin worse.

have you tried to pop the hood with the engine running and try to isolate the location of the noise?

coarse i have.thats y i was sayin that the noise was coming from the bottom right side off the engine.

timing belt side? i know mine makes noise from the timing belt side becuae my water pump bearings are goind out :(

that cud b it alright.cause when i'm driving or rev me car i hear a kind of winding noise and it comes from the foot well on the passenger side. yes the noise is from the timing belt side.

I am in the final stages of fixing this proplem. The knocking in my car was coming from the engine. Top or botttom has to be deterimed. Mine was the bottom. I replaced the bearrings in my B16B with bearrings from a 2000 1.8 Integra - perfect fit. My delemma now is where to find the torque specs for the main ans connecting rods for a JDM Civic Type-R DOHC??? Anyone know?

...And I am only a newbie to this forum. I don't much, only what I have encountered. I do know, however, when I need to ask for help. Plus I don't like to see my engine unhappy!

Do you have any idea where I can find the torque specs for the connecting rod? I replaced all bearrings and now I need to bolt this crazy crap together.
