hey guys i was thinking about geting the konig feathers in black i was wondering whats a good size tire for regular street drivin and light racing if i get the rims in 17"!!! :thanks: ill try and post a pic of it soon!!!

you already know my opinion on 17's and trust me the majority of the users on here share my opinion...

I would stay away from 17's mate!
i had my mate's 17" ep3 wheels on mine while i refurbed my oem wheels and i did not like them one bit, mess's with the handling in a very bad way:angry2:

i would try and stay with the oem rollin diameter!:nice:

I think the OEM 17" EP3 wheels are heavy too! I have 17" PS-X which are very heavy as well and I agree with what you say mate + some minor shifting problems like shifting hesitation and noise, nothing serious though. But don't have only wheel diameter in mind. For example, the 17" Rays TE37 or CE28N are around 1 kg lighter than the 15" OEM EK9 wheels and they provide better handling at high speed(my friend has tried this out). However, because of the small tire sidewall you have to use, you must have the exact air pressure otherwise your handling will suck badly! The problem with small sidewalls is that the car does not bounce and the driving is a "hard" experience :)

yeah ep3 rims are really heavy (just sold ep3),i will tell you exactly how the car handles + performs with 17" te37's in a few weeks lol! i expect it will tramline a bit (in the grooves in the road and white lines) i love the look of them though, but will be buying a set of standard rims aswell.
good info about tyre pressure,i will make sure the tyre pressure is exact now, will put this on my to do list,as usual good info and both sides of the coin from manos:).

16" max bud. wouldnt go 17" just my opinion tho
I agree!! :nice: If I would go for look then 16" are great. I also think 17" seem a bit big for the Civic hatch don't they? Huge difference in performance as well. Before I buy my 17" rims (10 kg+ each ), I had 15" Rays TE37s(4.5 kg). Difference?? Day/night!! :( It was an excellent deal which I could not resist though :p

To answer your question, a 205/40/17 would fit perfectly, same overall diameter. A 215/40/17 should fit as well, but I haven't tried it.

Oh, and if you want to do some racing, don't get 17's.

ty guys for the input heres a pic of the rims they look very nice to me and they are very light. i will take ur advice and go 16" on them! :thanks:
they come in black, gold or silver!!! :nice: let me know what u think of them and i need a link to a place i can sell my old rims besides ebay. :blabla: i also need a link to get some honda center caps to fill the hole, ty

also what size do u recommend i get the tires im thinkin toyos to fit the konig feathers or the heliums... 16" of course lol. for regular street use and mild racing on a track

Jason please read this thread below on how wheel sizing affects the cars performance. I wrote the pro's and con's of 15" and 16" wheels, with the last post being a quick list of some really nice wheels.

And for tires, falken azenis RT-615's are perfect for what you want to do with the car. Especially since it doesn't rain much in california.
Oh, and If you are going for a light wheel in 16" (or 15) that isn't that expensive, I would recommend enkei rpf1's over anything made by konig.

naw i saw the rims i want now and there the konig heliums in bronze.... mabye on toyo tire but definetly those rims... im not rich so i cant get the  volks that they look STRANGELY similiar too :D
