hi guys.can i get a launch control on my spoon ecu.if not what is the best ecu with launch control.thanks

best for the price is phearable.net custome chipped ecu, but im sure you can add some kind of launch control and retain the spoon ecu. i believe some aftermarket ignition systems have built in launch control.

additional sensors have to be fitted with any ecu that supports launch control to the wheels/that area and its not cheap

no way, launch control is a very simple device, all it is, is a revlimiter at 0mph, its controlled by ignition system, thats why i stated some aftermarket ignition systems may have launch control features, i have launch control and i did not add any sensors, all stock :nice:

i think your referring to traction control, thats when you have to add sensors and it gets very expensive.

Whats the difference between traction control and launch control?
If I make a guess I would say, traction control is for avoiding spinning after launching and launch control avoid the same only at the start?? :angry2:

your right, im thinking traction control :nice:

Why would you need launch control on a N/A car? Just use the foot. :)

It wouldnt make any real difference. Turbo vehicles use it to build up boost before launching, but flooring an NA engine after or during clutch release would provide the same outcome, or better, than with launch control.

I have to agree with blinx9900 for the price, phearable.net ecu, I run one, and it runs great.

I had the opportunity to enable this option, but I decided that it was not a good idea, because I run at 2 tracks. 1 Located at 3000 feet above sea level , and the other 150 feet above see level, At the track that its 3000 feet above sea level I launch the car at 7000 - 7500 RPM, when I race at the track 150 feet above sea level i have to launch at 6000 - 6500 RPM.

I have to do this, because If I launch at 7500 RPM at the track that is 150 feet above sea level, the car wont get any traction at all! Same happpens if I launch at 6500 RPM at the track 3000 feet above sea level, the car wont even get out at the vtec range!

Keep in mind this before you get one, specially if you run in a lot of different tracks!

no my friend, traction control is used for handling, like in the canyons/snow weather, if it detects wheel spin it will reduce power to that wheel so you dont spin out, most awd cars have it, like the evo. you CAN NOT drag race with traction control ON, it will just slow down your car.

JayH your are correct, there are many people who run great times without launch control, but i guess its all prefrence, some people find that launch control is more consistent.
