Losing oil from headgasket area

Ach! I nearly did this too. I even had the bolts in and about to torque them when I spotted the tag was missing.

guys been driving the 9 about for couple of days and have a couple of teething issues nothing big.
1. throttle seems to be sticking. when i push the pedal you can feel it sticking for first mm so sticks on as well so its like a dangerous cruise control lol i put some wd on pedal and on spring where cable connects to throttle but no change. would this need replaced ?

2. the car has hks racing suction kit and apexi power fc ecu. when i switch to standard ecu the engine management light comes on and car stutters when accelerating. i was wanting to run standard ecu but would i need to change air system to do this ?

For your throttle body, take it off and clean the butterfly (particularly the outside edge top/bottom) and inside of the tb housing. It is likely to be the butterfly valve sticking on the inside of the housing when closed. When you really clean this properly it should open free as a bird. I have had this many times before.

With the ecu, put the oem ecu back in, run it and check for codes. This will give you an idea of what might be causing the problem.

the throttle feels like it sticks on the pin that stops it spinning to far. the ecu is the pct 003 one can you code read theese ?

I would still thoroughly clean the inside of the tb if you are having any issues with it sticking.

The ecu will generate flash codes so bridge the service connector and count the long/short flash combinations of the eml to interpret dtc. There's a couple good phone apps that give the full list of codes so you can easily check what the code relates to after reading them.

ok cheers bud i was going to use brake cleaner yday but wasn't sure if it was a wise choice. that can be tomorrows job need to double efforts to get it ready to bring to glasgow lol

I recently had my t/b apart because it started sticking badly , I tried cleaning it while the plate was still in but had no luck so pulled the plate out , cleaned it out thoroughly with wd40, cleaned the plate especially around the edges , messed with the screw on the mechanism, I only did this because mine was slightly open which caused some issues when driving. After I put the plate back in, adjusted the screw a few times again so there was no gap and opened it fully and let it retract back a couple of times to check for sticking, doing this sorted the sticking and hasn't stuck so far since, it took about an hour to get it sorted properly but that was due to an issue with one of the retaining screws for the plate, it wouldn't go back in.
