love this guys enthusiasm!!

I think the thread has some comments that are funnier :p

I owned a 98 UK DM DC2 - Comments above sums it up. great car. 16v Rallye wasn't far off it speed wise.

a well setup 106 rallye/gti is much more fun and better handling in my opinuin.

A 106GTI/Rallye is faster and better handling, as you can see :D

Hahahaha! the 106 boys make me laugh!

a lad i know has a mk1 106xsi with a gti engine, manifold, decat, pugsport exhaust, filter, lightened bottom end or something and we came off the island up the dual carrigeway i was pulling from him! bear in mind my ek9 is standard! i dont get what the big deal with them is, just leave them to rant on how good they are when us lot know the truth :)

now hes got cams and has been tuned maybe its a bit better now! il have to see :)

Just noticed your local to me as Im from Walsall!! Cant say Ive ever seen an EK9 in Walsall.

Dont get me wrong the 106's are fantastic little cars and handle great. But from personal experience they're problems are they lack power. A breathed up and cammed 16v will produce around 150bhp. Its going to pull but its never going to be able to compete with bigger cars.

ahh cool, where abouts in walsall you from?

yes these little cars are ''chuckable'' but its a hit and miss with them as its not gaurenteed there gonna handle the bends there chucking them into!
150hp in light chasis will be nippy just not as fast as most people think!

Just bought a house near junction 10 of the M6. Sounds a bit gay but Id love to check the 9 out in person!

Yea there cheap and cheerful little cars. Mines a little rough to drive on todays roads (as soon as you hit a few uneven roads the car becomes very unstable). But on track it really comes alive, especially due to the LSD.

But like you said it needs more of a kick :(
