LSD Gearbox or not ???

Just wondering if my g/box is LSD or not as someone i know says or can not 100% say it is or is'nt but is does not say LSD on the box though its the facelift EK9 99'

...what year make and model is your car? what engine?
 
Have you got an ek9? Don't all ek9s come with an LSD?
 
im with EK9-MATT on this one :nice: its the quickest way to check and good fun! if both wheels leave a mark u have a LSD
 
or jack the front up,take it outa gear and turn one wheel and see if the other is doing the same?

wrong, this will only work with a clutch pack lsd not a TORSEN (torque biasing LSD) that comes as standard in the ek9's
 
Jack up the front, keep it in neutral, and rotate one wheel. If you have a Helical LSD, the opposite wheel will rotate in the opposite direction.

Nope doesn't do it, tryed both ways :(

Code on the box is - S4C-1059473 if that's can help anyone identify it me me?

the poor guy is all confused. the only way to be 100% sure is to look through the diff hole. Who knows if the original was sold off and replaced with a open diff.

Ok, was just wondering if the box has been changed maybe as someone i know says it should have LSD stamped on the box ??

Yeah thats me :angry2: as above wondering if its been changed at some point, but the engine condition to the box match up as they have been on as long as they have been rolled out of honda ? Hmmm

Have turned to understeer it on the roundabout, which is does'nt,handles great, who knows !
 
It doesn't matter what the label says, as the transmission could have been taken apart, and the internals changed.

You failed the wheel rotation test, so the only other method now (other than taking the transmission apart), is to take your wheels off, pop the axles out, and look through the diff and tell us what you see.

Sir, does this apply to the s80 tranny? I tried jacking up my car and spun the wheels in neutral, the other one rotates but in the opposite direction. my friends told me that both wheels should spin in the same direction if I have LSD.

your friends are wrong. if your car has an lsd and you jack the front up and put it in neutral, then spin one of the wheels the other wheel should spin in the opposite direction.
