LSD Question!

Ek9 s4c gearbox. If you jack the front end up the car up so both wheels are off the ground, spin one wheel by hand, what should the opposite wheel do?

Spin the opposite direction?
Spin the same direction?
Not spin at all?

Please help

with an lsd mate it will spin the same way and should stop if you stop the other wheel.

With a plate diff it spin the same way. However with the oem helical diff the opposite wheel will most probably stay still or maybe go the other way.

Sami, on mine, the other wheel spins the opposite way... (stock ITR)

One thing to realise, if you can picture how an open diff works, is that with the final drive locked (by having the car in gear) the other wheel will also turn the other way.

I wouldn't rely on the wheel rotation telling you. As I always say, go and drive the thing, it should make itself apparent.
