Hey guys, most of you will remember i posted a thread about a month ago telling you all i got clocked doing 101mph on the A74........

Well i recieved a letter from Cumbria Constabulary yesterday reagarding it, this is the EXACT letter they sent me >>>>>>>

----------------------------------------------

Dear Sir/madam,

NOTICE NUMBER C01******

i refer to the conditaional offer of fixed penalty issued to you recently.

It has been identified by Cumbria Safety Camera Partnership that the manufacturers who supplied the equipment used to record the speed of your vehicle, have not supplid to the full calibiration needed in complience with the Home Office guidance.
Whilst the partnership is satisfied that the equipment is working correctly, cumbria Constabulary has on this occasion taken the decision to cancel the conditional offer of fixed penalty. No further action will be taken by the constabulary in relation to this offence.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused by this.

Yours Faithfuly.

I swear to god ive never been so relieved in my whole life, needless to say ill be getting V.Drunk tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ha ha i like the bit where it says apologies for any inconvenience. wish i was as lucky as u

Yea...guess you are a bit lucky there.

The main question you have to ask yourself, is will you still drive the same as before, or will you reduce your speed?

I lost my license due to points totting up and it kills me not having a car or even the ability to drive one until I get the license back.

BUT...I am glad I lost my license through points and not something really bad.

When I get my license back, I will hopefully be getting an EK9. Bad move in sense, because I love speed and the thrill that comes with it, But I do value my life and license more and don't wanna be without either of them and a car again, so my driving will calm down a bit.

I hope! ;)

The guy who's banging Jessica Alba is the luckiest guy alive! U come a close second m8

Yes you are lucky indeed that's a very rare notice to get!!
But I would still be ok paying the highest penalty if I was gonna spend a whole night next to J.Alba!!! Only the thought makes my legs shaking!!

lol, Amen brother

Mate ill be honest if it was a night of passion with Jessica Alba or the worrying of realisticly facing 6 points £1000 fine and a ban anywhere between 14 days - 3 months then im afraid Mr R Rabbit would have been making an apperance lol

Thanks for the comment buddy, the answer to your question...

Will it change my state of driving? It will certainly will but by the same token the way brittish drivers are penalised is an absolute disbelief.
Im going to assume that probaly most of us, maybe not all but the majority have in some way been pulled over or experienced some form of trouble via the police whilst driving? Well if you have then you would definatley agree that 3 points is going to scar your license atleast on the insurance front for probaly 5 years (think thats how long they keep it noted) Then theres the fine that they hit you with...

and wheres that going exactly probaly the same place that the tax on petrol is going, which is no where to make extra roads or even fix the roads we have at the moment, the roads in glasgow are probaly on par with roads in Iraq.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that rapists, paedophiles, thiefs christ even murderers are treated with more diginity than the common driver. The way Britain handles drivers with speeding is a disgrace, i dont know if any of you have driven on the A74 but almost all of it is surrounded by hills and mountanous areas, the only danger on roads like these is your own ability.

I fully admit breaking the law but i will never agree that the way the system is run is right!

Your right. the system is a joke!!!

When your in the wrong, they will chase you up and come down on you hard.

They did that with me when I got caught speeding twice.

They gave me 3 points and a stupidly unrealistic 5 points in 1 setting! So that left me with 8!

But then...when I was in the right 100% with my prelude problem, they didn't want to know and wouldn't help me. They just gave me 6 more points and a fine. the 6 points pushed me onto 14, so that equals a ban for 6 months!:nono:

My problems was Direct Line car insurance.

I took the policy out online to start on the 31sy May 2007.
I took the car out and had a bloody crash! lol

Then Direct Line turned around and told me that my insurance wasn't valid and it started on the 1st June 2007. The day after the accident!

Idiots!

i wont bore you with the details, but Police couldn't care, Direct Line don't care and I have to fork the £3082 for the repair of the other guys car!

That is my EK9 money disapearing!!!

Man you have had it rough. Insurance are happy to take £700 of your had earned benjamins but when it comes to paying out the Ars****** drag there heals about it a hate insurance its a joke.

Theres no such thing as cheap insurance you end up paying a fortune regardless

you are a lucky lucky man!!! lol

all i can say is when i wrapped my civic up A-Plan paid up no problem,

Man that's luckier than me getting out of a drag racing ticket (don't street race any more) and getting out of a sound violation ticket (my radio was blarin). 2 OBVIOUS violations and both cops let me go.

well, take it as a lesson, its a sign, SLOW DOWN!

As from whats read above you will probaly all assume im just another boy racer, I wouldnt say im a fast driver, assertive but not fast.
Ive never had points in the 4 years ive been driving and im just really glad i sumhow managed to avoid this, i still cant beleive it

yea man u are really lucky how you got away with it, and i agree totally with you about the police system in england, i am from newcastle and they are just totall ba*****s there. i was just coming next to the airport and this range rover wanted a race with me so i floored it onto the dual carrige way with my ek9, i beat it lol. i was doing 140mph and i went to pull of at a slip road and i looked in my rear view mirror and i seen a T5 behind with his blue lights flashing, i was like noway this cant be happening.

so they pulled me over and and i had to talk to them for ages, they said they clocked me doing 117mph, but they said there's no way you were doing that speed cause there computer averages it out over a distance, they where asking me what kind of car it was and that and i told them it was a 1.6 at 185bhp and they wouldnt believe me hahaha. they told me there car is 280bhp and they cudnt catch me up, they said if i didnt turn off they where about to call the air support. anyway they ended up taking my car off me i had to pay 130 pound to get it back then i had to go to the police station and pay 60 pound fine and after i got 3 points, i was propa gutted. but i kinda learnt to drive slower bt i didnt really take affect.

LOL @ 1.6 shock and disbelief!

But they had a bit of fun in it while it was impounded!

 If it was 280 bhp they would had seen only a shade!! :D
All countries police are the same ****

280 bhp? Im suprised, i thought it have been more than that, im pretty sure the BMW'S used in Glasgow must be around 350 bhp, i know a guy that has a 440bhp supra and he took a chaser and got away (His number plate flips up with hydraulics at the touch of a button, best mod ive ever seen!)

hahaha yea i think they did have abit of fun, they where actually joking around for a little bit, well i came the next day staright away to collect it cause i cant be without my car and the f***s left something on in the car and the batterey went flat.

yea i know thats what i thought that they would be more than 280bhp but when he was telling me because it was the armed forces police and he said that it was 280 and i was shocked. we have the bmw's and mercs down here at durham as well but i dnt know what they are, but i dont think they can be much different than that.

but yea man your mates supra sounds wicked how the number plate fips round, sounds like he is from james bond or something hahaha.
