well ive just done a few bits to the car including oil and filter change, new spark plugs and fitted a second hand aftermarket exhaust and now ive got a lumpy idle and a hesitant acceleration.what do you think could be the problem.could it be the exhaust baffles have burned out or is it more likly to be the plugs or filter.it was an afi filter which fits fine but is bigger than an oem filter.any ideas cheers

Have you disturbed teh lambda probe / oxygen sensor? Quite common to effect these during and exhaust change..

Since you said you just replaced the spark plugs did reinstall the wires correctly? Misrouting them will cause the problems you describe

i agree yashio, when the wires are crossed that will make a lump idle also if the plugs are gaped wrong and also it depends on the plugs also here in the states the plugs come pre gaped so i dont miss with that. But i do look to see how hot or how cold and check to see if you are using crappy plugs because if you are that will do that also and check your maf sensor and check to see that it didnt unplug when you put the filter on or any lines came off, also possible vaccum leak.

thanks for your replys guys turned out it was the plugs.one of them had the wrong gap.all sorted now though.cheers.

hiya mate its top notch bud not too loud but got a nice tone to it just what im after.thanks again for it mate.hope your clutch gets all sorted mate and you can get back on the road.

I've got similar problems with my B20, very hesitant off first and also at low speeds it seems to be hesitant and judder before it starts to pull.

Worth looking at plugs, sensors etc do you think?
