Hi all, I drive a facelift EJ9, and up til now ive had the stock 14s on there.
Today I swapped over to some Jordan rims, on 195/55 tyres. All tyres are near nuff brand new and were fitted professionally this morning.

Now what I noticed was that when I was taking my old wheels back home in the car, I heard a low humming noise coming from the car as I drove. It sometimes disappeared but sometimes it came back, and ive never had this before. For some reason the car does sit a little lower normally than the other stock cars.

Anyway my question is does anyone know what this humming could be? Never had it before, and it only seems to pop up when theres weight on the back, and is a consistent humm noise.

TBH mate it could be a number of things
How ever it could simply be that you're not use to the noise of the wider tyres. Are they performance ones? and did you have cheap crappy ones on the older wheels?
Lastly what tyre pressures are the tyres at? just because its a garage doesnt mean they have put the right pressures in the tyres :)
Check all those things and if its not them then it could be something rubbing but I wouldn't worry just yet
Hope that helps :)

Well no they're pretty basic tyres. They're filled with nitrogen and seem fine to me. The only thing that worried me was that with weight at the back the rear of the car kinda slumps down abit.

I'll check the pressures. Thanks man

yeah man i would also check your pressures aswell, when i had my 16's put on the garage said i will have to adjust my suspension as the rears are rubbing, when i checked the pressure they had 45psi in them!!! and the weight of 60kg for 4 oem ek9 wheels with tyres didnt help lol

Could you take a picture of this tomorrow so we can see just how low you mean? Is it completely standard?

Yeah course ill take a pic. Will also check pressure. Car is completely standard yes

It did certainly feel like rubbing but idno if the car is low enough for that.

I regularly carry lads in the back so need this sorted haha

haha lads, i like that

cool, it will just give us a better idea of what it could be as if it is still quite high i would say it wouldnt be rubbing
