Does anyone know anyone who are taking on people for Mechanics Apprenticeships in the Glasgow Area? Been looking for ages and just cant find anywhere :( thanks.

Best bet for apprenticeships is to go round every garage you can think of. Just go up to the workshop doors and ask for the gaffer and then ask if they would be interested in taking on an apprentice. Remember and take a heap of CV's to give to them all aswell and just keep on at them. Apprenticeships are about being in the right place at the right time in alot of cases. I know none of that helps with jobs going in Glasgow though lol

Cheers for the advice mate and will get a CV done and printed a few times, tell me about it mate Glasgow is brutal for jobs at the minute especially for me since im 18, applied for 2 mechanics apprenticeships with arnold clark and kwik fit but nothing back as of yet.

Are you already placed on the motor vehicle course? That can help as the collage contact local garages and try for you. But going around Handing cv's is a must. And contrary o the above comment Dealerships are equally as likley if not more considering the current economic climate. My family used to have the citroen franchise and we frequently took aprentices on who came round and handed in a cv.

Been a few moons since i came out my time and i was lucky enough to already have a placement at my family firm but i know the score mate just keep at it :nice:

Imo its the hardest trade and the worst payed though. Should have been a spraky or plummer :( but thats life haha

Your probably have more luck with the independents rather than the chains ;)

Ahh okay cheers pal
