I want to create my ultimate cheap daily :) After looking for alternatives I couldn't find any real alternative (Clio RS all have very high mileage here and Ibiza Cupra has high petrol consumption). So I guess it comes down to a Ferio. I want as mycg options as possible: aircon, sunroof, ABS, airbag. Also, I am going to swap a VTEC engine. So I need a VTEC wire from ECU to engine bay. The thing is, I can't find any Ferio with all those options. So I might have to install a few things myself. My priority for all these things is:
  1. Aircon
  2. VTEC wire
  3. Sunroof
  4. ABS
  5. Airbag

I want to buy a car with the most difficult things to install and add others. Can anyone tell me amount of work involved and difficulty for all the above things except the sunroof? So Aircon, VTEC wire, sunroof, ABS and airbag?
On a scale of 1 (easy, quick install) to 5 (time consuming, difficult install)

For example: aircon, easy install but time consuming. If possible in relation to eachother :nice: Also, do ABS Civic always have rear disc brakes? Thanks!

My 1999 EK3 LS VTEC-E has ABS and no rear discs, absolutely love it as a daily, easy 40+mpg and bog standard, no one looks twice at it.

Has aircon, but no sunroof, did civics come with aircon AND sunroofs??

Surley most EUDM ek ferrios wil have air bags? Dont think u can get an ek without airbags in the uk.

The abs and air bags will be dificult to completley swap so they work as stock.

@Kipper: yeah I have a stock EK3 hatch without aircon at the moment. Can't beat economy on the engine. Therefor I'm still in doubt wether to drop in a D15B with short 1/2/3/4 for fuel economy while still being reasonably quick or B16 +S9B with Y21/S4C 1/2/3/4 to be fast with reasonable economy. Thing is, I drive a lot on the highway so D15B will save me significant amounts of petrol. But on the other side it will be my only car and I really, really miss DOHC VTEC.

@Ellis: it was optional in the Netherlands. And yes, I thought so. What I had in mind:
VTEC wire: easy install, little - some time consumption
Aircon: somewhat easy install, medium time consumption
ABS: difficult install, very time consuming
Airbags: very difficult install, extra time consuming

Sunroof could be done aftermarket but still in doubt. A significant amount of people experience leakage from after market sunroofs.
