Hi Guys i got some questions...
Due to my legalisation progress for my EK9 i will go ahead and do the exhaust emission and noise emission measurements allready with the new intake and exhaust system mounted so i don't have to do this twice.
The goal for this car is to be a track/show car for my company (JDMjunkies.ch) so everything has to be street legal for the hard swiss LAW and also it has to look nice and bring me some power benefits.. much huh?
anyway - here are my questions:
INTAKE
I've looked at two different intake systems
1x J's racing carbon fiber intake (the carbon is better due it leads heat badder to the inside than the plastic version)
2x M's / Gruppe M intake system. the gruppe M seems to use the normal intake piping but istead of the filterbox-system it uses a K&N cone filter with
a carbon shield sucking air from the front of the car. means it will possibly suck cooler air than the J's.
WHICH ONE WOULD BE YOUR CHOICE? WHY?
EXHAUST:
It's hard to find a power-bringing exhaust system that looks good (the jap. style ) is high quality, latest technology and brings some power...
so first: i will take a TODA header with 60mm collector think that's an expensive but the best ever made header for an ek9 - choice...
second: i found the Tanabe Gfordan exhaust system that is limited to 93dB noise emission. it looks really nice, uses the latest technology and i know that tanabe really make high quality exhaust systems with great sound.
my problem: the GFordan is not produced for my EK9
i found out that the US Spec version of this item (Tanabe Concept G) is sold in the US for all EK hatchback models but i think due to they never got the ek9 over there its only built for the ek4 models (Si). this exhaust uses an overall piping size of 60mm
now i was wondering if this one would fit on my ek9? due they have same piping-route under the car and do ek4 and ek9 have same connectors-size at the cat and headers? sure i can re-weld it if it won't fit but it would be much easier if i could install it directly
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT COMBINATION / EXHAUST?
60mm seems to be ok i think.. what do you think?
thanks for your inputs guys! will help me a lot!
