Love it definatly getting some soon! i know the whole tight budget situation im in the same boat. trying paint jobs and repairs when your skint does not bode well!

I want to start by saying.
I F@&}lNG HATE RUST!!!!
Heres what i was greeted with when taking the wheel off to attempt to change the drop links.
IMG_03821.jpg

I thought Oh great that shouldnt be too hard.

Broke out the wire brush, a massive tin of Teflon oil, lots of spanners and a socket set.
After 4 hours, alot of swearing, a few sore knuckles and a major rage...

This is the result...
IMG_03821.jpg

Yep, no change, both nuts on both sides siezed solid, allen key inserts rounded off with rust and no way to stop the threads spinning.

RAGING!!!!!!!!

Drop links can be a proper pain in the arse depending on how seized the bolts are. I changed them on my last Civic and ended up nearly exploding with rage  Best of letting someone else get angry over it (My Mechanic) ;)

Word of warning..its probably going to be the same on the other side mate. Good luck ! :)

Your definitely right about that mate!
I tried both sides and had about as much luck on either side.

Its going for MOT tomorrow so im just gonna ask them to fix it before test as i will end up breaking stuff if i try it again

Car still not MOT'd ended up buying a standard backbox for MOT... Will be coming right back off afterwards tho! Stored in garage till next March :sarcasm:

On the plus side my wheels are back from refurb and looking SWEEEEET!

Look up 3 posts and your wait will be over :D

Enjoyed reading this, however surely if you have an EK3 1.5 engine in an EJ9 you need to tell your insurance of any mods which means you'll be paying EK3 money or more anyway?...
