rvm, car looks sweet on the track, i was wondering what is the best way to move off to go 1/4 mile?
Would you move off, then clucth it in 1st or just let it build into Vtec?
A mate told me to rev to where the Vtec comes in and just let the clutch off??
Anyhelp would be greatful! I'm thinking of doing 1/4 mile at santa pod
Thanks for the comments,
It all depends of the track, for example. The video you saw is at a track that its 3000 feet above sea level. I align at the track sensor, put first in the gearbox, I rev up to 7500 RPM then I totally remove the foot from the clutch, and the car goes out in vtec and when the car gets traction I still on the vtec range.
When I go to the 1/4 mile track that its like 200 feet above sea level, I rev up to 6000 the most, because if rev it up higher the car will not get traction at all, and Instead of gaining I will loose a lot of time.
I tested the car with a comptech race exhaust + stock ecu in both tracks,
1/8 mile track 3000 feet above sea level I did a time of 10.50 secs.
With the same setup i went to the 1/4 mile track 200 feet above sea level.
I did a 1/8 mile time of 9.92 and a 15.3 in the 1/4 mile time.
So there half a second difference in the tracks just because the altitude!
