need help on finding the right civic for me

hello guys been looking into buying on for a while this is purely going to be a track and quater mile weekend car as i have a daily as it is.

been looking at ek and like egs aswell just dnt want a rust bucket

ive had a look a different specs on the engine on here eg, b16, b18 or b18 with b16 heads seems all rather confusing as use all seem to be going down different routes which is cool and makes it original.

got about 1500 to spend not wanting anything fancy. gona make it a project n have a spec am happy with.

just wanting to no if i just buy a ek4 vti with a b16 is it just the case of pulling the engine out and replacing it with a b18 if i choose to go down this route without changing hubs n driveshafts as the b18 is from a teg

As far as i know all b series engine & gearbox components are interchangeable,
so there's no reason to worry about changing hubs & driveshafts beacuse if you buy a EK4 (vti model) or a EG (bseries engine) then you already have a s4c, s80 (DC2 gearbox could have been swopped in by the previous owner if you lucky), y80, y21, s9b gearbox so the b18c from the integra will bolt right up 100%, so you basically just changing the engine.

As for the b18b non vtec engine with the b16 head conversion commonly referred to as the Ls Vtec, I've heard they make more torque than the b18c GSR engines due to having a longer stroke.

Another popular conversion in South Africa & should be worldwide is taking the b20b/z engine from the CRV & introducing it to a Vtec cylinder head

Only if you buy a d series engine equipped car then you should worry about getting a b-series engine, driveshafts, gearbox, ecu etc

*HUBS on the d-series equipped car? I'm sure the outer cv joints are the same on all civic models besides the EK9 (these are from the prelude if I recall correctly) so the Hubs should be fine going from d to b series driveshafts

a b18c swap into a vti is a very easy conversion mate :nice:
 
similarly, I need a used Civic at good condition with affordable cost.
 
Whats your budget guys? got a nice EK4 with B18 but has small rust on rear arches.
