Good choice on the suspension although I would skip the strut brace and get a intake manifold from a D16. Not only do they make good power but the induction kits for the d14 look gaaaaaaaayyyyyy. Especially as you can get the manifold for less than the cost of a strut brace

D16Y8 or D16Z6 inlet manifold is what your after mate. As said better off getting this than a strut brace, not to mention that it´s not physically possible to mount most strut braces over the top of the existing D14 inlet set up
im running a fully adjustable front upper strut in my ej9 1.4 with no clearance problems at all
