new type R on my driveway

GL with the scooby. Bought from jap car's? Are you going to get a remap? Those engines wont last any time without a remap or atleast run on octane booster. My friend got his remapped with some guy from england that comes over here once a month, he map's them with Ecutek and guarantee's they wont blow up after his remap but you still need to use octane booster every full tank of petrol.

bullshit ?, i ain`t sayin **** bout p1`s, 22b`s, type r`s i don`t know enough bout scoobs to start rantin but i do know there is a wrx wagon that jumps bout my bit and he can`t out accelerate me ! and as for my mates i never said it wasn`t faster but he does have to give it some to pull away. and i ain`t tryin to brag or nothin just makin a point that i don`t talk bullshit.
But nice motor all the same

ah so thats why...your talkin about uk scoobys which arent exactly very fast no wonder the ek9 was keepin up with them:nice:

this is an wrx STI type R which runs sub 13sec q/m as standard:drive:
RWD based via a diff controller 75%-25%:win:

who fed you that?... i've owned my STI-R for 3 yrs now and never used Octane booster... and only ever used 98+ RON fuel... car aint been mapped either... engine is standard apart from a few bits an bobs... if taken care of properly and maintained regularly ... engine is just as bomb proof as any other turbo motor :D

Well the fact that your using 98+ron would help prolong the life of your engine. A good friend of mine who work's in a jap import garage has told me that they are not giving any warranty on any of those scooby's they sell as they got so many coming back that blew up within a couple of months... and I have heard from plenty of people who owned them of the the heart ache they can give, Definalty a wise move to get remapped.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....... must sound delicious ! :p

I`d imagine its quite heavy on fuel ?
very very heavy on fuel
their less than 100kgs heavier than an ek9 though but as far as i know this is running just over 310bhp,gonna get it rr'd and mapped with a few extras and keep it at a safe 320bhp and i will be looking for mid to high 12's on drag:drive:

nice motor mate if you dont mind me asking how much to insure it? im after selling my ek4 sir and getting either a scooby or evo4 but the insurance is a killer best i have is 2.6k and im nearly 25 with 5 years ncd

project nearly done, just a few niggly bits and shes finished
only a week left and she be done for the moment

Thats a lovely example that. Been in a fe scoobs, stock they are pretty bland cars but with around 300Hp they do open up. Never a car that interested me to get though... My bro had an import WRX running around 280HP, that was pretty lively....

I have to say the times quoted for quarter mile are very optamistic. I would say for around 310bhp your aiming for mid 13's..... But hay, get it on here and prove otherwise :nice:

yes a 350bhp tommi makk and still had the ek9 but i ended up not driving it much due to recession over here so i moved on and work picked back up so i went and bought the scoob instead, always had a bit of a soft spot for an sti coupe
