Hi guys,

I have a Civic EK4 and replaced the front wishbones maybe 200+ miles ago yet I am still getting a creaking noise from the front of the car.

Reason I replaced because the bush that the bottom of the suspension fork went through was really bad so just ordered a new set oe spec Blueprint ones with new drop links :blabla:

After replacing and tightening everything up I am still getting a knocking and creaking noise when I move turn or even drive about

Any ideas what I can do?

Thanks

Did you preload the suspension before tightening the bolts? If not, then it could be that the bushes are now sitting with a twist/tension on them all the time which could cause a noise

ah ok cheers.. just the car is mega lower.. guess ill lower it onto some blocks of wood so I can get to the bolts

Is it just the suspension fork saddle ones? or all?

Yeah that or put the car on axle stands and jack up the lower arm till it sits the way it does when the cars on the ground. I'd do any bolts you've had off to do the arms mate

The rear engine mount or shifter bushings can creak, especially if there poly bushed

Probably either the top or bottom ball joints, one of them has gone dry, really common fault done loads of them. If you have a good local factors you should be able to buy just the joints and press out the old ones and new in.

I done that today, jacked up the car.. losened the bolts then put trolley jack under it like you said.. tightened everything both sides

Problem still there.. not as bad

Ive replaced both lower ball joints (1 month old.. oe spec) also upper ball joints are new skunk2 ones.

Whats the best way to check engine mount?

Thanks

I only hear it when I drive over slight bumps in the road.. not pot holes or sometimes when I stop and I turn the wheel I can hear it :/

In a low gear hit the throttle hard on and off see if the engine rocking causes the noise.
