NGK Iridium Spark Plug, Are they worth the extra money over standard Plugs?

So just to double check - in the UK on a EK9 the right plugs to get are these?

Not gapped just plugged straight in?

Hi there - I was looking at getting these for my EK9 but in Heat range 6 not 7 from an earlier thread that was posted, which is the better as I am totally confused now!! Cheers :)

I haven't read all the post to know if I am reposting this but... I have my car tune back in april this year and showed up with 2 sets of Denso iridium plugs... 22' and 24's... Well he told me that the tips seem to break off after a while, fall down into the cylinder and tare the cylinder walls up... So he tuned my on 2 stage colder platinum plugs

this is so untrue unless you're experiencing major detonation. we have been using Denso Iridium plugs for years now & we haven't encountered such a problem.

the B16B comes with a "7" plug so you should at least get a similar heat range plug whether it's platinum or iridium.

Cheers buddy thanks a lot. Not had her long only 2 months so just getting together a list of the correct things that I need to ensure she stays in tip top condition. :)

I've been told by the guy at jp4mance.com that the heat range '6' is the correct one for the EK9 & B16B when standard and '7' when tuned. Now that you've said it's '7' I don't know which to go for? Lol :((

Tell me about it I'm confused as fcuk now!!!!
Mine is not tuned, only have ARC chamber, Racing Spec Condenser and hand made SSteel exhaust!! Arghhh...... Will probably try the #7 heat range and see how I get on. Been looking at www.isitaboat.co.uk/cars/honda_civic_type_r_ek9
and its states in there it should be High Heat Type #7 for the B16B and for the B16A its a #6 I'm pretty sure it also states a #7 in the Civic Type R Manual but its all in bloody Japanese!! :((

wise decision gents, my brother's EK4 SiR 4dr sedan with B16A2 comes stock with a "6" plug & when i inspected my EK9's plug it had a "7" so off the NGK plugs & in the Denso IK22 plugs.
