Number Plates/DVLA??

Just a quick one guys.
Basically, I want to take the number plate off my starlet before I sell the car, in order to put it on the ek9. Would I be able to do this, or as the plate is not private, i.e. it was given to the car when it came into the UK, would I not be able to do this?.

Its pretty ironic, but the plate that came on the starlet has my name/ initials on it, so I'd like to keep it.

at a guess i would say you arent able to mate.

Unless you buy a private plate for like 40 quid or summin and put that on your starlet and then you should be able to keep your original starlet plate.

Clarify this though as i dunno for sure!

Cheers dude. Just speaking to a mate on msn about it now. He does'nt think it can be done:(
But like you said, surely if I buy a cheap private plate for my starbo, I should be able to keep the original plate.

Can anyone clarify this?
 
have a look on the dvla website site , you can even order the forms you want there online
dont quote me on this but i think its £25 to keep the plate and £80 to transfer it but iam not sure tho
