I've got a doubt...I am looking for a LSD for trackday/fast road and would like some feedback...my car is a EK4.
Normally when we see any car that still does any street duty, we recommend the helical.
This is mainly because the plate LSD requires special fluids for proper operation (noise reduction) and beyond that, it will require maintenance every 2 years (estimated - mileage varies from user to user) in form of a rebuild.
The Helical needs no such maintenance/special fluids, however, you do give up some performance as a result. Depending on your needs, the helical may be more than enough for you.
Only Plate Type LSD's have a "way" type.
A helical LSD (which is in a constant state of torque biasing) functions very differently from a Plate Type LSD (which works on the principle of locking up)
Will it show good difference on 400m race with other CTR's due to faster vtec kick in and gear changes ? I just want to go spoon to keep everything japanese on my car if you get me
Hi guys!
I am building a race eg6 for circuit, hillclimb racing!
What would be the best 1.5way lsd for me?
Any experiences in racing? how much should be locked?
There is some new carbonetic lsd that has carbon plates,
and it writes, that they last longer, are stronger and everything better!
Is that really so much better?
They told me, that Kaaz is pritty agressive, so carbonetic is better with its progressive function..
So what are your experiances? Which lsd do you recomend???
The car is just for racing!!!
regards
The DC2 LSD is very mild. Does it work?
...
Just a simple reference to any SERIOUS front wheel drive racecar and you will note that 90% of them use and prefer a Metal LSD for its ability to positively transfer power under a competitive environment.
